Who: Tony and Jacob
Where: Streets of Shepherd's Haven
When: Shortly after the events of "Devil's Night" from RtE
What: Want to know how I got this scar? (Sorry... I couldn't resist...)

Jacob wandered the streets of Shepherd's Haven as he headed home from his usual visit at the hospital. Lazarus seemed miserable and Richard seemed like he was going to recover just fine. Looking at the destruction from the fires on that night, he'd sometimes idle slowly and remember the man that did the damage. His features resembling those of his dear friend, Tony.

Tony... Speaking of, he wondered how Tony was doing. He didn't find him in the hospital amongst the others. Just how badly Tony was injured, covered in blood and run through with his own sword. It was enough to make him shudder. How he managed to survive even that much was amazing. Jacob wondered if he managed to escape alive after all of that. He hoped that Tony at least saw a doctor. He reached into his pocket, wrapping his hand around his phone. Maybe he could call Tony? Check in and see how he's doing...

Jacob pressed his lips into a line. What if no one answered? He was halfway worried that maybe Tony didn't make it. He gripped the phone tightly in his pocket before releasing it. He wasn't too sure that would be an answer he was willing to hear, if it was the worst case scenario. Maybe when he got home and watered his plants, he'd feel more brave to seek that answer. But right now, remembering how Tony looked was enough to deter any desire for that answer.

Jacob ran a hand across his chest instinctively for a second, remembering his own injury. He definitely wasn't hurt like anyone else. He tried to take on the monster, and found quickly that running was a much better idea. He was lucky to get away with stitches. The grin on that demon's face was chilling. He shuddered unwillingly. He became absorbed in his thoughts, his face looking like he ate something bitter as he continued his passage.

Since the attack Tony had been scarce, and that wasn't by accident. Wrought with guilt over his inability to stop the attack, and worse yet that the perpetrator had his face he felt it best to stay low. The only reason he'd not skipped town entirely yet was that he was still waiting on Richard and Lazarus to get out of the hospital. Once they were on their feet, he was gone.

He was mostly healed in a few days, further lending to his guilt. Others had to stay in the hospital, him? A little extra blood and he was on his way.

Typically he'd visit the hospital late, when it was unlikely too many people would be around. Richard was his father, he could get in at any time. Lazarus he still claimed as brother so it worked out, occasionally. So far he'd managed to avoid having to bump into too many people. Tonight? Well, he wasn't exactly excited to see a familiar face.

Briefly he considered jumping up the side of a building and bolting, but that'd be pretty cowardly. So instead he'll just look really uncomfortable and try not to be noticed.

Oh sonuva- Well, he's been caught. Again the thought of leaping up the side of the building to escape crosses his mind, but instead he turns slowly on a heel to face Jacob. One hand raises in an idle wave of greeting as he attempts to put on a neutrally friendly expression like he totally hasn't just fallen off the face of the earth since everything broke loose.

He really is a gigantic piece of garbage, Jacob. Really you should just leave the idiot to fester on his own.

"Hey," He rumbles once Jacob's a little more in earshot. He really shouldn't feel this ashamed but he does.
